PETER BELL for BATTENS BATTLE 2010

Batten disease is a fatal, inherited disorder of the nervous system that begins in childhood. Batten disease is not contagious nor, at this time, preventable. To date, it has always been fatal.
BCE Surveying together with HBL Football Club are uniting to help raise much needed funds for Batten disease by hosting the inaugural "Battens Battle" at the Brunswick Showgrounds on Saturday 6th March 2010. This will be your chance to see your favourite past stars from Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles. Coached by Daniel Gilmore and captained by Peter Bell, Dockers will have a strong team including Matthew Carr, Shaun McManus, Troy Cook and Heath Black. Steve Maloxos will coach an experienced West Coast Eagles team, captained by Dean Kemp and including Peter Wilson, David Wirrpanda, Dean Irving and Dwayne Lamb.
Gates will open at 1.30pm for the intra-club battle between the South West Juniors. A clinic will be provided at
5pm for children up to the age of 12. The "Battens Battle" should kick off at 6pm. Entry is $10 per adult, $5 per
kid, $5 per pensioner, $20 for a family pass. Kids under 10 are free.
An auction will follow immediately after the game and will include the auction of the guernsey's worn during the game. Battens t-shirts will be available for $20 which will be the perfect canvas for getting autographs. Brunswick Showgrounds are licensed until midnight, so plan your safe transport early.
